Who I am
I bring a unique combination of experience, insight and research to the leadership of change. I have personally led change in major global organisations including Shell, Gucci Group, BBC Worldwide and PepsiCo holding both Group HR and VP of Organisational & Management Development roles.
I also founded and grew a consulting firm that pioneered research in the field, and act as change coach to the executive boards of major corporations such as the German energy giant RWE. Other clients have included De Beers, The Church of England, Dell Computers, Diageo, GlaxoSmithKline, Kraft Foods, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Prudential, Roche, Rolls-Royce Holdings, Santander Bank UK, Royal Dutch Shell, Syngenta Group and Unilever.
I now also take on non-executive roles including Advisory Board member at the International Institute for Leadership and Safety, Trustee of the Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival, and lay canon and Chapter member of Truro Cathedral.
My research into the leadership of change has been widely published in academic journals and was accepted as a paper at the 2016 Academy of Management conference, and 2019 European Academy of Management.I enjoy speaking at conferences on the subject of change and its leadership.
My latest book, From Ought To Is: Catalysing Change and Movement in a Polarised World will be published in 2025 (Wiley 2025).
My career and life’s journey have led me to live in several places around the world – including the UK and New York, Switzerland, and France. I currently have the good fortune to live in three beautiful places – a stone’s throw from the vibrant diversity of Notting Hill’s Portobello Road in London, a crab claw’s throw from the tranquil harbour of Cornish coastal fishing village, Portloe, and a wine bottle cork throw from the banks of the river Dordogne.
When I am not engaged with the task of helping leaders lead change and advising great executive teams as a non-executive Board member, I enjoy walking in the great outdoors, contemplating striking art in all its forms, sinking into my yoga asanas, and, most importantly of all, simply being me with my dear friends, family and adored/adoring miniature poodle pet dog.
